getting a kit from V-Twin Manufacturing. anybody have any experience with them ? and , yeah, I did post this in the sportster section too. any hints or tips you have could be helpful. thanks
So, your going from an 883 to a 1200. Are you getting new barrels or boring yours out? what year is your scoot? fuel is going to be an issue so knowing if it's injected or carbed would help.
Does the kit come with a cam? are they supplying adjustable push rods? or barrel studs?
More info please!!
Hatch.
if you haven't bought the kit yet, might i suggest getting it from somewhere else? v twin mfg is well known for for its shady business practices which include buying a part from a reputable builder here in the states, then sending it overseas to have knockoffs made and sold much cheaper.
Zipper's in maryland , they put together some top shelf hot **** stuff for bigger and go fast .
What yr you have ? I've done a few late 80's up to a 96 but they all are fairly the same . Price isn't always a good barometer for quality , most anything for HD is marked up the azz anyway . It's a straight forward job nothing complicated or trick to be done , cases up comes off , new pistons & rings , yada yada yada . You will want some bigger cams .
