I wouldn't worry about a cover if you have a garage.
You need a good jacket, chaps, and rain gear if you plan to travel, and with a good machine like the Standard, I would suspect there is some travel in your future.
If you want things for the bike, I would have a Stage 1 and pipes.
Custom grips go a long way for personalizing the feel of the bike, in my opinion. That, and I'd invest in a new seat; I've yet to see a stock seat that's worth anything. The seat and grips are the two biggest places you have contact with your bike, so make sure they're nice.
chaps, I'd go for the chaps; and a few odds and ends for the scoot. But go for the HD clothing only if you want to sport the HD logo on your body. Otherwise, there is a heck of alot of good product out there that isn't marked up 250% like their clothing. So, if you don't want to be a walking ad for HD, then go for the stuff for the scoot. And if so, first ride her for about 500 miles or so before you decide what you want. You'll know.
i dont think the dealer gave you squat! i think you were forced into spending that 500 bucks at the dealership, lots of dealerships do this they just add it to the price of the bike, so the least you could do is buy little stuff one thing at a time maybe youll force them into buying more ink for their printers!!
This is exactly how I would spend the money (SE = Screaming Eagle and make sure you get II's not one...yes, they by law have to tell you they're illegal for the street. Don't let that get to you. That's EPA law, not real street law. We have several law enforcement officials on the list, and I'd bet that every one off them is running pipes as loud or louder than the SEII slip-ons.
Why do this and not the other, you ask? The other can be had cheaper (much) over the internet. Doing this suggestion will make your bike sound like a Harley and give you increased power. Order a helmet tonight or tomorrow, or get it at your Harley dealer. Make certain that it is DOT approved ansd has the sticker on the outside. Two good places to check out are New Enough Leathers and Helmet City. Take care, Art

Five hundred bucks should cover SE air cleaner, SE II slipons, and remap/rejet.
