I am in the middle of making a stainless light bar because nothing fits. I have measured a dozen bikes. will have it done by end of this week unless something fun happens instead.

(ACTUALLY most dealerships WILL haggle with you and accessories ARE a great haggling tool!) I test drove just about everything they had (new and old) and after a few blocks I fell in love with the switch back.

I like the Roadking, and had a Electraglide classic, I traded and got a heritage softail, Why? I wasnt comfortable on the glide, couldnt get my feet on the ground good enough to hold it up with confidence, even after lowering it an inch.
With the wife and myself, were at about 450 lbs and the glide just didnt ride comfortable, my wife likes the ride of the Heritage and I do also but am not a real fan of the counterbalanced engine.
Had the switchback been out when I purchased my heritage, id have gone with the switchback.
My dealer wants me to yake a test ride allfully bad and I want to but and affraid ill be trading again if I do.

I posted before I got to the end and saw that you got the fatboy.
I love my heritage also, which of course is the same bike basicly as a fatboy only loaded down.
I would like to have both actually! LOL
Enjoy your new ride.

I sat on a Switchback a few weeks and really enjoyed it. I think out would be perfect compliment to my Ultra Classic for around town and light touring less than 3-4 hundred miles.

I agree the switchback is more quick and nimble, but at high speeds there was a lot of vibration, The lo is more complementing to the lower back and gives a smoother ride, but moves like a drunken mule in slow maneuvers. Still I think I'm going with the Lo myself.

If you plan on doing more touring riding buy a touring motorcycle IMO.

I don't know, I've gotten by without the luggage, windshields etc... if I'm leaving for a long day trip or weekend trip I just pop on a sissy bar an lash a rucksack to it. But 98% of the time it's not needed at all and I can ride the bike looking how I like it.

Default Fat Boy Lo Rocks!

Great choice! I think the Switchback is a pretty cool bike, but, IMO, the Fat Boy Lo just looks cleaner and has more presence. As for the touring thing, I've done several 1,000 mile trips from DC with the girlfriend (Pigeon Forge, Savannah, Florida and Maine) and with a Mustang saddle, whiskers frame highway pegs, detachable saddle bags, sissy bar and touring bag, I have yet to encounter any comfort or storage issues. And like the Switchback, 10 minutes after arriving, I'm cruising in a nice, stripped down cruiser. As for the windshield..........., am I the last of a dying breed who loves getting beat up by the wind and the taste of road bugs? Really?
