i have only had a twin cam over 100mph a few times..it is pretty smooth..when i was younger/dumber i used to ride a lot faster,a shovelhead or ironhead will vibrate so bad your whole body goes numb at 100mph,but it till do it with out any trouble..i have won several street races on my shovelhead against metric bikes..sportbikes are another story, i had a guy on a panhead want to race me once,i was on a cbr 1000,he was beating me till i let the clutch out..but most sportbikes never see 20-30k miles before they are junked
