Just returned from the Bay Area two weeks ago! Good luck getting to Burbank in 6 hrs....it'll probably take you that long to get to I-5! The traffic was unbearable, the roads are in terrible shape (your bladder will get a workout) and gas prices will be a shocker. Didn't see one out-of-state license plate the whole time...except for those of us from Idaho (lol)!
Burbank in six hours on a bike would be tough, but there's no need to take the Highway 5 superslab. You can either mosey down the PCH or take Highway 101 south.
The commute can be a ball buster, but remember there's lane splitting.
You guys are the best I am printing all the recommendations out so keep em comin.
Ok who's got the best place for coffee and or breakfast???
Depends on where you're at. The Millbrae Pancake house in Millbrae is pretty good. In Pacifica there's the Chit Chat Cafe for coffee, not sure about their breakfast. I also recommend Gorilla BBQ (a person friend and client of mine) for their ribs or pulled pork sandwiches. Nicks has pretty good waffes too, I think their breakfast is pretty good too.
By the way, if you'll be going down the Coast Highway, as I'm sure you will, you might want to turn off at Pescadero and go to Duarte's Tavern. Great variety of food.

Thanks Gonzy If I run into you Ill buy you a beer...PCH is definately on the short list of things to do.
Yeah bay area sucks, the flip side is I dont have to live in Idaho, were it snows 8 months out of the year, there is gravel on every corner form the damn red rocks you guys spread around and then dont sweep up ever, and by the time the gravel is gone guess what it's snowing again
BTW premium is 3.99 a gallon, last I checked it was 3.89 In Idaho Falls....for the extra .10/gallon I'll hang in CA
Bull crap!! Get your geography book out....I live near Boise (snows off-on maybe 3 months of the year) and don't live near Idaho Falls, so I fill up locally.
