BTW, I read about it in Motorcycle Consumer News, and they gave it a good write up. The mag is supported only by subscriptions, no advertising, so at least in theory they are unbiased.

I put one of these on my bike and took it in for a fallaway adjustment. Got the bike back and the tech had broken it. Dealer gave me a $30 check to replace it. I've only used it for short streches on back roads and seems to work. I'm not sure if the friction is enough to maintain speed for an extended amount of time. I'll be testing out on my upcoming 5,000 mile Sturgis ride.
For what it's worth, I love the cruise mate. Wanst too expensive, looks good and works perfectly. I would have hated both of my iron butt rides without it. I cruised with my right arm dangling/resting for many miles on both of them. Cruise is still better but much more $.
