My right hand goes numb very quickly, so I'm definately going to go with some kind of cruise control.
I was considering one of these called a brakeaway cruise control. Has anyone tried one? They're quite pricey $200.00? but they look quite hi-tech, and they can be released when you pull on the front brake lever.
Problem with those is you don't have the space to turn them far enough. Either you start with the screw too tight, where the grip won't snap back, or else you can't tighten it enough to lock it later. I tried one on a long trip - luckily I had a throttle rocker, when that didn't work.
Then again, the one the OP posted says it is desigend for "original rubber grips" that nobody has on their bike.
I just put this on. http://www.jpcycles.com/Product/5100135
It is so simple, some people will trash it; but it works.
By far, this throttle lock is the most luxury for the dollar I've ever bought.
Did you get 0% financing for 6 months on that....LOL...Works right?

I had a Honda that had one of those on it when I bought it and it worked great. Just tap the brake and it disengages. It is still not like a real cruise though as the bike slows down on hills, etc. unless you readjust it constantly.

I disagree, I have the Throttlemate which is like the cruisemate and it works perfectly. I didn't think it would have enough space either but it did.

I feel like I'm hijacking my own thread! Just want to report that I bought the throttle lock in the link below, and think it just might be a pretty good product. Problem is, I can't properly test it as my mirror stalk is too low and it integers with the throttle lock.
If someone has tall stalks or no mirrors, PM me and I will send it to you, no charge. I'm just curious whether or not it really works as ll as advertised.
