I've actually had that happen to me before. The same lady almost kill me twice!!
She cut me off once, I was little pissed, but we ride motorcycles it happens. Then as it turns out, I'm up next to here a few blocks later and she does it again!! The second time I wasn't so nice.
I haven't been riding much (truckdriving job keeping me busy), But yesterday I took a nice long ride on the RK. I'm used to dealing with bad drivers when I'm out riding but it seems far worse than normal out there. I guess the combination of the REALLY bad economy and high temps we've had lately works on peoples nerves. Riding on the stretch of Rt 295 through Jersey I had 3 or 4 diffferent cars riding less than 5 feet off my rear tire. I'm in the right hand lane doing 5mph over the speed limit and there is nobody next to me (they could have just passed me) WTF!!!
My day was capped off by a woman in a gold mini-van swerving into the left lane to pass a car as I was going by her. No turn signal. She forced me right over into the oncoming lane, luckily no cars were coming. I was happy to be parking the bike in one piece with no broken bones. what a day.
Remember WE choose to ride motorcycles and therefore in the driveing publics minds we dont deserve concern or respect. Very few give a second thought on how close they get or if we are still around them once theyve seen us and they want to make a move in traffic. This is why awaness and rideing skill, lights , horns and a set of pipes that allow you to be heard by those nearby all help our cause to live to ride another day. When thats not enough for some alternatives may be needed...becareful and enjoy.
With regards to the pocket projectiles, I used to think that was a good idea.
Back in the early '70s I had a friend who liked to carry a pocketful of hex nuts to use in this manner. One night on I-680 it cost him his life as a pickup rear-ended his scoot and propelled him into a steel utility pole.
