How fast do you think is too fast?My best friend cruises at 100+ when by himself.I won't cruise that fast .I just don't find it enjoyable to have to make decisions that fast.Maybe he enjoys the rush ...I would rather kick my feet up on the highway pegs and enjoy the ride isn't that what it's all about?
It all depends on the road Im on. If Im on the 4 lane and the traffic is running 80-90 mph Im happy running 80-90 or if Im on an old back country road with something to see Im good running at 45 mph.

Too fast. Too dangerous. Puts your "best friend" and others at risk. Sounds like a sport bike rider to me. I don't know who would want to regularly "cruise at 100 MPH" on a Harley. Oh yeah, it's illegal.
10 over the limit on the interstate is mandatory in this state. If not, you get run over. On other roads I stay within 5 of the posted limit. We know a number of speedsters like you're talkin about and wouldn't ride with them on a bet. It's just a matter of time until they get into a situation where there is not enough safety cushion for them and they get in trouble.

Whatever it takes to not get run over and to keep me out of the trucker lane. Sometimes its 65, sometimes in 80+.
If I'm on my own, I have a much better time if I am in a zone that wont get me a ticket. It's tiring watching for police constantly and I hate that feeling I get when the lights turn on behind me [&:]
Backroads, I'm usually enjoying myself and riding limit or even under sometimes. Of course, every once in a while you hit that perfectly paved road in the twisties thats begging for 3rd gear... 30-65. I love that kind of riding. Wind her up, let her pull you down for the corner, wind it up again...
80-85 solo going to work does it for me, but that's all Interstate. 70-75 on normal cruises, just to keep up with traffic. Besides, with the local LEO's becoming revenue generating arms of the government around here a 15+ over the posted limit is a 3-point and few hundred dollar infraction. I can live (literally) with keeping up with traffic on the highway and my wallet stays a whole lot happier.
Your friend at 100+, good luck, he's destined for a bad accident or an expensive ticket some day, I hope that it is just the ticket.
