Keep hearing they are cracking down on bikes in Lake Lure. Was thinking of heading up is this true or just people talking. And what's the best place to grab a bite to eat.

Lake Lure kind of turned its back when the Margarita Grill closed and the new owners said they are not catering to the bike crowd anymore. The cops there and Chimney Rock are decent but they don't tolerate showing your butt. Both towns have a noise ordinance and will use it on motorcycles. I never have had a problem in either town because I don't go out of my way to draw attention to myself. Just ride like an adult and you should be fine.

I was there a few months ago. I had no problems at all. But that was the first time I had ever been there so I can't say whether is was better or worse than before. I will say the roads were awesome.
