Why not go by the Dunlop display and let them have a look at it. Who knows, you might get a deal if it has to be replaced. And yes, the dealers are more than ready for folks like you to show up. Make sure your wallet's fat.

Well guess what the Yamma dealer in sturgis has a place set up got a metzler and dunlop balloon by it needed a tire for RK front took about 40 min and 190 bucks
Across from the bikkini car wash so you have entertainment. theres another place by pamaida they wanted over 300 but i live close was there at 9am it was stacking up fast. so go early west side town
The Sportster is a 2008 and tires are original with only 4200 miles on them. You really have to look close to see very small hair line cracking like it's dry-rot starting. I was considering waiting until getting home. Thought it might be normal for older tires but not yet dangerous Just don't want to take any chances. It's my wife's bike.
Thanks for the advice
Do you like your wife? Does she like you? Have a safe trip.
I cut the rear by the Devils Tower last Tuesday. Ended up waiting for the wrecker in Alladin Wyoming. All of the dealerships we called could not get me up and rolling untill the following day for some reason. Black Hills Choppers out of Spearfish took it in and stayed late to get the wife and I back on the road.
If its rideable right now slip in to any number of venders doing service and tire changes etc...around Sturgis this week, and get it replaced.
