When Hollister had the rallies, you could get a ticket for not having both feet down at a stop..
I place both down after I come to a stop and its not because of "lack of balance".

Now if your coming to a stop and place your feet down like outriggers, then I would agree with you.

If by chance I need to turn the front brake loose and I am on an incline that could cause me to roll back----I us that concept of the friction zone in my clutch. This crap isn't rocket science and I think that unless you fall over when you stop it will be okay. Before we hear all the crying monkeys whine about their front brake causing them to drop the bike or to slide down----Learn to use your front brake. Yes, I have broke the front tire loose by using the front brake on slick surface. I just let the front tire roll while using more back brake then reapplied the front brake.
Uhhuh. Agreed!

Neutral and coast to a stop, both feet down, hold with front brake. Clutch, put it in gear, both feet up then go.

That's how one guy does it.

This is like a train wreck... I just have to keep coming back to sift through the carnage.

That so many guys are having a serious discussion about how they put their feet down just blows my mind.

That's really a stupid statement. Brakes stop the bike and I usually put both feet down, right hand on brake, in gear and ready to move. Wasn't all the complicated was it really.

No it doesn't. I use both feet down...and I can stop before putting my feet down.

+1 except I stay in 1st gear.
I have always put both feet down. After reading this post I tried left foot only. Felt awkward and unsteady, with no advantage. Only reason I could think of for left only is if you're too short to flatfoot both feet. I'm 6'3" so that's not a problem.
