i didn't know there was a designated propping leg..i usually put both legs down,i can only reach on my toes , the bike is f'ing heavy, it gives my legs a chance to stretch in a different direction for a while.. just never really thought about it till 2 minutes ago
You guys have no balance! I can't believe you actually put your feet down. I keep both my feet on the pegs so I can shift gears and stay on the rear brake. Occasionally, on a hill for example, I put my hands down. Of course when I do, it's left hand first, then right.
(This may be the dumbest thread I have ever read on this forum.)
Both feet down simply shows a lack of balance on the part of the rider, how did you stop?
Dont believe that is true, I put my left foot down until the bike comes to a complete stop, then I put my right foot down. I have already shifted into 1st, so am ready to go, should the left for what ever reason start to fail, I can shift the weight of the bike to the right, foot is already down. Especially true when my wife is on board.

It'll make some kind of top list, for sure.
A MSF instructor told me the perfect stop is left only down.
I believe a perfect stop is any one where you don't hit something, or don't fall over.

You put your left foot down, you put your left foot up, you put your left foot down and then you shake it all around. You do the hokie stoppie and then you lookie all around, that's what it's all about.
I don't put either foot down 95 percent of the time. the motor officers here say the don't like putting a foot down unless they absolutely have to. At a stop sign, I can dead stop my bike by trailing the rear brake. If there is a line of cars I go slow enough to keep moving until it's my turn. If I absolutely must put a foot down, more often than not I put both cause my knees are shot.
