so in my years of being on the road, i can honestly say i have never seen a bike (regaurdless of style/brand) pulled over, have you? i know there are a ton of videos of chasses and what not, but im talking about every day average jo just ridding, if your being stupid then you deserve it, but i have been stoped (in cage) for going 9-10 mph over posted speed, or rolling threw a stop sign or running an "amber" light! but never on a bike! i am sure this happens and i understand the fact that there are more cages than bikes so that plays a role......dont get me wrong im not complaining...just an observation...
I've been pulled twice in the last two years. Once in Mo for 70 in a 55 and in WY for 86 in a 65. Both State Troopers were very nice and both let me go with just a warning!
I commute almost every day spring through fall. 30 miles each way. Expressway (I-94 if any are familiar) in the morning usually because I am running late. Usually run about 80-85 and have never been bothered. Passed a Michigan State Trooper stopped with radar yesterday morning, pipes screaming, speedo at 85 and he nodded.
Commute home I usually go the back roads and do pass through a couple small Barney Fife-doms. In both these small burgs, I have been stopped for noise. Never ticketed, just asked me if I could use a higher gear.
I don't wear a 3pp any longer, just plain black leather. I still ride hard, fast, and loud and figure when I do get my tickets, I deserve them!!
Pulled over several times when I owned Sportbikes. Never got a ticket though, always verbal warnings. Never pulled over on any of the Harley's I've owned.
Some of you guys are lucky. I see bikes pulled over almost every day here. I have only been stopped 3 times this year, which is pretty good. Last year I was stopped at least once a week, and one night got sopped 3 tiems by 3 different NYS troopers in less than an hour. All the stops were simple harassment, license, registration, proof of insurance and DOT helmet checks. No tickets since 1980, when I got 3 in one night for running straight pipes. I figure $5 baffles were cheaper in the long run.
