Default Funny Story

I ride a lot with a friend who bought a Victory Vision. He always says, "I'll ride in the back and pick up all the parts that fall off of the Harleys". We laugh.

So we head out for ride from Orlando to the west coast of Florida - Tampa, Longboat Key, Sarasota, Fort Myers Beach... The guy on the Vision was leading. I'm riding sweeper, and I see the guy in front of me swerve and duck as something red flies by his head. I thought it was a crushed Coke can.

Butch pulls over and stops on the shoulder of the interstate. I pull up behind him, thinking he is scared because he almost got hit in the face with a flying Coke can. I said, "What was that? Did it hit you?" And he said, "No, it didn't hit me. It was Don's tail light. Should we go back and look for it?" I said, "Heck no. It went bouncing down the road and into the grass. If we could find it, it would be jacked up and useless."

The other three guys stopped up ahead to wait on us. You can imagine what the guy on the Victory had to say when I told him Butch was dodging parts that were flying off of Don's Heritage. We're still laughing about that one.

(By the way, it turned out to just be the tail light lens / trim ring - not the whole light assembly.)

Mini karma. Watch what you say about others. It may happen to you!

That's funny. Never seen that myself, but have dodged birds quite a few times.

Hate to say it, but about a month back I was riding down a busy Detroit highway and noticed an HD with hard bags well ahead of me. Dude hit a relatively mild bump (road expansion joint) and his rightside bag lid comes flying off and starts its sad bounce at about 75mph. It was hit by a heavy pickup then went flipping off onto the median. Rider never knew it came off. Must've been pissed when he finally stopped and realized he'd soon be dropping a hundy+ on a new lid. I'm guessing it was just held on by a bungie or something. Never heard of a lid just popping off like that.
