Little Update on this all.

As to riding gear, had on a three week old HJC helmet, gouged up on rt side and across the back. A HD nylon jacket over a sweatshirt, its pretty much toast, jeans which didnt get too tore up, and leather boots, messed up too. I think what really helped is that I rolled and didnt slide minimizing tearup. And I cant take any credit for rolling, went way too fast to TRY to to that.

As to braking to end up behind the truck. Thought of that but pictured those dual wheels back there and didnt want any closer to them. Maybe that would have worked out but then again, maybe not.

Had a DR friend of mine to a unofficial checkover and though all was going to be ok. Most the bangup pain is nearly gone, and ankle and wrist swelling in slowly going down.

Insurance is through Progressive which I just changed to one month ago. They have been great so far and speedy. ADjuster looked at the bike yesterday and est stands at 9800 bucks for now. Just will be a while til painted parts come in.

So taking it to the 9-11 Ride this weekend. Though about taking the Deice as I really hate to been seen with the mess which the thing that really stands out if the saddlebag. But know which bike still has the comfort.

Hey guys, and gals....ride safe!

Wow.. there's nothing I can add except.. Im so glad to see your ok.. like you said, it could have been far worse..

We'll be on the 9/11 ride too.. heading out of Lancaster, then to Gettysburg and then out to Somerset to hook up with the rest of "group". 1800 plus motors.. I'm thinking gas stops, staging and parking are gonna be interesting. Who knows, maybe we'll cross paths at some point over the weekend

And I gotta say it again... happy to see you came out of it as well as you did.. you have a great attitude.. so good on ya!!

Cheers

Man, glad you are okay. That's quite a story. Hope you heal fast.

I rode mine wrecked, too. Takes a long time to get the painted parts. I rode 2300 miles to GA, SC, NC, TN, VA, then another 500 Florida ride. Better than being without the bike.

I have Progressive, too - and they were great. Good luck - and be thankful.

Really wish you'd have gotten checked out. A lot of things happen that you can't feel or see right away without a deeper look

All in all I'm just glad you are here to tell the story and have the use of your limbs and in your "right" mind. God was definitely watching you and said it wasn't your time yet. You've still got work to do my friend.

As I said earlier glad you skated so light that could have gone very bad .
Funny how one the big thing you ( or anyone else been there ) do remember while all that was happening is all sparks flying off the bike . Thought it was just me for a long time till I listened to others relate their horror stories . Wonder what wires us like , really ?

Hope some of the no helmet guys take note. I doubt you would be here to share your story without it.
