Harley CEO is doing an interview on CNBC right now and was talking about the new switchback. He said about the switchback, and I quote "we have geared the switchback convertible towards younger female riders"
There you go, straight from the horses mouth on CNBC.
Actually what he said was that is is geared more towards younger AND female riders, which make total sense. I may have (and will keep) a Road King, but IMHO, the switchback was a brilliant move when they added it to the line. I think it wold be a great bike for those who like the idea of having a faring on a Dyna platform and of course, hard bags rock just the same.... I know many women who ride larger heavier bikes and many men who prefer the opposite. The only think that makes a bike a chick bike is when a chick buys it and rides it. I guess that potentially makes all Harleys chick bikes...
.
In 2005, my wife bought a Dyna. I put hard bags and a windshield on it, along with some performance work. She would probably add her 2 cents to this thread, but while the he-men debate the merits of their testosterone, she's too busy riding it to Sturgis and back 4 times, among other multiple-state road trips. This new SB is, in a basic sense, what we already did 6 years ago. "Girl's bike"? Some of the fashion policemen on here got a ways to go to earn that title.
I'm just glad that Harley builds a bike for just about everyone.
Thats what I dont get...
ITs a HARLEY! And its a DYNA!
why are some bashing it???
Its not like the moco bought into honda and is producing the new HD Goldwing.
ITS A HARLEY!
i guess i'm in the minority here. i don't really care for it too much. i think the lack of color choices and the large frt fender is what turns me away. i do like the wheels though.

BINGO!!! Isn't it funny how guys want / encourage chicks to ride, but then when they buy a bike simular to their bike and it gets called a "chicks bike", they get all defensive about it.,,

Remember all the hubbub around here about Honda's chopper, the Fury? The Switchback is getting more bad comments than it did. Unbelievable.
