Tell ya what, I too bought a switchback and i too read all the comments and got somewhat offended by the roadqueen mo****r, at first.... I envisioned pulling up somewhere and hearing RQ comments and wondered how I would respond. Bitch slap em, ignore em, whatever the mood dictated... some you win some you lose, and all that happy horse-chit. Then I came back to earth and remembered what the true spirit of the road and what the true spirit of a biker is...it ain't the posers trying to make you feel bad such as those who are saying that stuff because they have either something less or nothing at all. Or even more disgusting, a wanna-be bully without a way to back it all up. To me, they are like the old AOL clowns who got real brave overnight because they had this anonymous screen they could now hide behind. In real life they were nothing, but on a screen they were whatever they could sell. They don't matter and I'll bet a dollar to a dime, those kind would not be saying any of that to a SB owners face. No true biker would trash another man or woman's machine. It just isn't done and they don't get it, plain and simple.

Being a biker is a noble thing and it isn't for wimps. There's an unwritten code and we all live by it and honor it. Women who ride have my respect and they've earned it because they too, know the spirit and code of the road and from what I've seen of most female riders, they too, share that dignity that only bikers know and a dignity that's really hard to define. You can only experience it and live it. I've seen women on some of the most outstanding machines out there and of every size and configuration. Many of them would whip the dogchit out of some of the posers on here.

Don't let comments on any thread make you feel bad brother, or insult you or make you feel less about buying one outstanding motorcycle. I think this bike will be a home-run for Harley Davidson, it sure is for me personally or i wouldn't have bought one.
Once my first mods are done (next week) I'll post pics of what i did. Would love to see yours too if you care to share.
Take care and congrats on your new machine!
...and remember...don't get none onya.

I bought one 2 weeks ago and I have to agree. It's a girls bike. You should see all the girls this sweetie attracts. I've had more chicks checking out my bike than I ever have and I also own a sportster low, dyna low rider, heritage and a dyna WG but this SWB is one quick **** chick magnet. Oh and I had a street glide w/a 106 and I do believe this 103 would leave it on the "on ramp". Yup, I'm love'n it. Bought it for the ol's b'day but she likes the low rider better since it's been lowered. Tried putting the 11" shocks but the ride is just too stiff. Hope V&H comes out w/some duals soon though. The only pipe made for it now is the SE slip on. Still too quite and still fugly as haties.

I don't care what anyone says about it, the bike fits me, feels strong, handles well, and I'm digging it. I got to go for a decent ride today, about 160 miles. This got me just past the break in millage.

I stopped in line to wait for the Jamestown ferry and a guy and his wife pulled up next to me on their new sportster nightster. We had a chance to talk bikes. He recognized the SWB right away. Called it a "poor man's bagger." I don't think he meant anything by it.

Later on the ride, stopped for a sandwich at Poe's Pub and there were a bunch of bikes there. It seems that the colonial HD Hog club went for a lunch run. One of the ride captains and I had a conversation about the SWB. He only had good things to say about it.

So, I guess some people are going to like it and some aren't. I know I like it. If everyone liked the same thing Harley would only make one bike, in one color, and offer no accessories. It's just not cool to trash another persons ride, online or in person.

Thanks Danny,

Patriot guard rider...I'm interested as I'm a Viet Nam Vet (combat engineer, Army) 70-71 AND a patriot. Do they have a forum here somewhere and do they have any chapters in So. Ca.?

...apologies to others for talking about this off-topic on this thread

I went to the local HD dealer the other day to pick up some exhaust gaskets. While I was there I talked to one of the salesman, he said the Switchbacks are selling as soon as he gets them in. I wished that they had one on the floor to check out.

Also saw a 2012 RKC in that Big Blue Pearl (dark blue) finish that was absolutely beautiful

I went by one of the other dealers here today and they were swamped. They were having Demo Days and the only SB they had was one of the demo bikes. They also had a couple of Street Glides in the showroom. One in red, the other in that blue. Man, that would be a tough decision!

And they had a ton of 2011 models marked down. They had some Road Kings for 17,6.... with no fees, and a Fat Bob for 13k with no fees. I just can't see getting a 2011 with the 96 when the 2012s are sitting there with the 103.

I've been calling around. No one seems to have a Switchback on the floor.

Plenty of new RKs and Sportys, though
