Tell ya what, I too bought a switchback and i too read all the comments and got somewhat offended by the roadqueen mo****r, at first.... I envisioned pulling up somewhere and hearing RQ comments and wondered how I would respond. Bitch slap em, ignore em, whatever the mood dictated... some you win some you lose, and all that happy horse-chit. Then I came back to earth and remembered what the true spirit of the road and what the true spirit of a biker is...it ain't the posers trying to make you feel bad such as those who are saying that stuff because they have either something less or nothing at all. Or even more disgusting, a wanna-be bully without a way to back it all up. To me, they are like the old AOL clowns who got real brave overnight because they had this anonymous screen they could now hide behind. In real life they were nothing, but on a screen they were whatever they could sell. They don't matter and I'll bet a dollar to a dime, those kind would not be saying any of that to a SB owners face. No true biker would trash another man or woman's machine. It just isn't done and they don't get it, plain and simple.
Being a biker is a noble thing and it isn't for wimps. There's an unwritten code and we all live by it and honor it. Women who ride have my respect and they've earned it because they too, know the spirit and code of the road and from what I've seen of most female riders, they too, share that dignity that only bikers know and a dignity that's really hard to define. You can only experience it and live it. I've seen women on some of the most outstanding machines out there and of every size and configuration. Many of them would whip the dogchit out of some of the posers on here.
Don't let comments on any thread make you feel bad brother, or insult you or make you feel less about buying one outstanding motorcycle. I think this bike will be a home-run for Harley Davidson, it sure is for me personally or i wouldn't have bought one.
Once my first mods are done (next week) I'll post pics of what i did. Would love to see yours too if you care to share.
Take care and congrats on your new machine!
...and remember...don't get none onya.

Checking this site out... Great choice words here.
When my gf and I went to Sturgis, we found a place that offered Demo rides on the new SB. We both sat on it and we both liked how it felt and looked. She was the one that ultimately took it for the demo ride and she said that it was a great bike to ride and she liked how it handled. I am 6', 275 lbs. and it wouldn't bother me at all to have a SB in my garage. So I think the new SB is a good bike for whoever wants to buy it and ride it. We also stopped at several HD shops on the way to and from Sturgis and they said the same thing, they are having problems keeping them in stock.
A lot of you people need to grow a thick skin if you wanna be "Harley riders". I mean,c'mon--Sporty riders took good natured ribbing for years. I get ribbed all the time--for owning 2 white bikes ("White & yellow are for chicks")for my last name, for bein' 57 with a David Cassidy haircut, etc. And it doesn't bother me. Who cares what people say? I don't give a rodent's rectum. Harley riders are by nature jokers & like to clown around. I've always been a sarcastic wise-***,prolly from growin' up in NYC,and those who know me know I goof around with people. If you can't take a joke, sell your Bitchback and get a Burgman. Or an Italian racing bicycle with spandex shorts & a sports drink bottle. If you wanna ride & hang with those who ride the Big Iron, then grow a thick skin. And give it right back to them! Hell, if I ever buy another Harley, it's gonna be a Deluxe (Love 'em!)and I've already gotten the "girl's bike" crap from friends who know I love Deluxes! (And I ain't gonna ruin it with a 21"front wheel and fishtails that get to the destination 20 minutes after the rest of the bike gets there!) Now, I can't wait for all the whining 21" front wheel Cholo Deluxe owners come on here & get their tampons in a snit over my comment. Just my opinion, which don't mean crap-a-roo.
Now,for my flame--Now-- I'm not a lover of the SB as it comes from the Factory. It seems like it doesn't know what it wants to be.
HOWEVER...
If you Junk the front wheel in favor of a 16" with spokes, add an auxiliary light bar, and remove the gay looking bags & sheild, I think you would have the Dyna Electra Glide I have been waiting for for so long, and one righteous biotch of a sled.
I don't like 18" front wheels with FLH style front ends & fenders. Too California "trendy" for my taste.
I'M OLD SKOOL, BABY!!
