There was a recent thread started by an English guy (Tim Watson) who rode his Harley across the US and has published a book by the subject name. I've tried searching here for that thread, but no luck -- can anybody provide a link?

Reason: clarity
The guy's a lightweight compared to Ted Simon who spent 4 years starting in 1973 riding his bike around the world covering 45 countries and 64,000 miles and here's something to bang on about he is ENGLISH and it ain't been bettered since by any other foriegn national ..... The book is called Jupiters Travels the bike was a 500 cc Triumph Tiger 100 ....And then again in 2001 on a BMW R80GS he roughly followed the same route as his 1973 trip he completed the journey in 3 years he was around 70 years old and the book is called Dreaming of Jupiter ..... now that's what ridings all about when people talk about the journey not the destination .... Now dont forget he is ENGLISH .... OH YEAH!

You seem to be misinformed. Everyone** knows that "There and Back Again" was written by Bilbo Baggins and is the first section of the "Red Book of Westmarch." However, I don't think (1) Bilbo is technically English and (2) that he ever posted on these forums.
**By "Everyone" I mean everyone that grew up in the 60's and read "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" with the rest of us. I'd be surprised if Christopher Tolkein (J.R.R.'s son and executor) didn't sue Tim Watson over the title.

SIGH... I really don't care about other riders or accounts, I'm only looking for that specific thread because I'm looking for a specific bit of info that I seem to remember is in one of the posts.
As for Google, I tried that right after using the HDF search -- neither turned up anything useful. Perhaps the thread was deleted(?)
