2000 Road King
Looking at a 2000 Road King(my first Harley), it has 42*** miles and they are asking $9999. I think its pretty much stock other than the 16" apes, and an aftermarket seat. It's green and black two tone. Does that seem like a pretty good price? Seems a little high to me with the miles. What do ya think?

I concur: a little too high. as an example -
shameless ad: I've got an 03 Silver & Black RKC, with 20k miles listed in the classifieds for $9000. new tires, recent 20k service, new grips, new brakes, new mufflers, new battery.

This RK is at a dealer here in Az. I talked to him today and they dont want to budge on the price. I'm trying to trade a Polaris Ranger in on the deal(that I'm a little upside down on) I told him that his bike was only worth about $7500 otd(its very clean), but he wouldnt bite. Oh well...If I pay his full price, and he low ***** me on my Ranger, then add on the negative money, I'll be financing too much for a 13 year old bike.

Remember--2000s had the cam bearing problems, and unless it's carbed,it's gonna have the Magnetti=Marelli EFI system which is problematic,and I've heard of people waiting over a year for parts. and at that mileage,those cam chain tensioners are prolly gonna be toast.
Never buy used from a dealer. You take it with no Vaseline. You should show him this thread & tell him his prices are WAAAAAAY in outer space!
