I just bought a 2006 Low Rider, when I went to the dealer to change the Title info they asked me if I wanted the factory extended warrenty.. does anyone have any pro or con information to help me with my decision...If it's a yes, how many years should I go for?
Lots of threads in the archives on this. I didn't get one and you have until the
last day of the 2 years to get it. I'm going to wait and if the bike seems to
have no problems, I'll pass on it. But if the bike starts to have problems, I'll
think about getting it just so I'm covered later.
You have until the original warranty expires to purchase it. You are gambling (a very little bit) as the price may go up, but then it may go down if they are not selling enough of them.
If you decide to get it make sure you touch base with the dealer first and get him to commit to honoring it if you plan on doing any performance upgrades. Lots of upgrades can give you fits with the warrenty but there are lots of dealers that will stand behind the warrenty if they do the work.
