Default Diagnostic help needed

Bike started running bad last week - sputtering, hesitation, spitting out intake, and stalling. Others have suggested bad crank position sensor, which symptoms seem to match. I tried to run diagnostic to verify bad sensor using the Run switch/odometer reset/ignition. Only info I get is D01CLr - D10CLr and PPU codes. Are these trouble codes, or what are they? Bike is 2001 EFi Fatboy.

Have you looked them up in this trouble code thread?

does it seem to be happy when idling and not in gear, but go crappy as soon as you load her up in gear? If so, check the throttle position sensor.

hope this helps...good luck

First place I would check would be the internal fuel lines in the fuel tank...Or perhaps an intake leak.

Ran the jumper wire and got 3 trouble codes - 23, 32, and 41. If I am interpreting codes correctly, that is front and rear cylinder low/open and an out of synch crank position sensor. Is CPS out of synch something that can be adjusted or does sensor just need to be replaced? I want to address the CPS issue first and see if the f/r cylinder issues clear when the timing is corrected.

What is the real question? What did you do?

Bike was running great, but I was hearing some rattles in the primary so I opened up the primary to check the compensator nut was tight. It was so I adjusted the primary chain while it was open. When I took it on ride, it stumbled badly and stalled a mile into ride. Checked CPS connectors, cleaned, rode again - same results but stalled within 400 ft. Getting code that CPS is out of sync - question is can CPS be adjusted back to sync or does it just need to be replaced?

The crank sensor cannot be adjusted. Just replace it and it should clear up all your issues.
