I wear the Harley "Road Warrior" in size large and it fits me perfect. I am 5' 10" 215lbs. In a HD jacket you would be better off with a medium.

Hey 3/4 life crises what jacket do u have? I'm thinking of a Harley jacket with the hoodie built in. Not sure if that changes the size up. I too don't want sleeves hanging past my hands when standing with my arms down. I'm 5-06 160lbs athletic build. Just don't want it tight while seated on my bike either. Let me know. Thanks.
Hi Green39,

I kinda rotate between 3 jackets: A Road Warrior textile, FXRG textile, and FXRG leather. I find myself wearing the Road Warrior most often, it is lightest of all 3, has front and back vents, waterproof, and w/ Gerbing heated liner, probably the most versatile from 60F down to about 40F. Got this at a dealer on sale for ~$160. It has elbow and shoulder armor only, I added the back armor for $18 (dealer closeout).

The FXRG textile has all the advantage of the Road Warrior, slightly heavier, more pockets inside, come with a liner (not heated), this is an older model, back vent is at waist level, not on the back. Has elbow, shoulder, and back armor, also comes with a kidney support. Paid ~$250 on ebay, sometimes I see it here on classified as well.

My leather FXRG is the heaviest (compared to the other 2), pretty much same design as the FXRG textile, older model (05). Paid ~$365 from dealer closeout. I pretty much only wear this on longer trips on freeway, colder weather. It is bulky not only in wearing, but as I stopped and try to put it in my tour pack, it simply takes up more room.

With your intended budget, you can easily get the HD jacket you want, or with a little shopping, should be able to get 2 styles so you can "rotate". Since I wear helmet at all times (FF modular or 1/2), hoodie is out.

Hope this helps. Ride safe...

if you get a riding jacket, then that's gonna happen. the sleeves are cut a little longer so that your skin is covered when you have your hands up on the bars.
