Just back from a 6,400 mile trip through the West. Even the high desert of Eastern Oregon, the fields of Kansas, and the starkness of central Nevada have a beauty that nothing man-made can match. Nevertheless, the Golden Gate bridge in the fog was pretty cool!

Wow--almost unanimous for natural. One poster summed it up pretty good for me--I like natural when I'm riding, but man made & historical when I'm sightseeing. Mountains are nice, but after a while, they all start to look the same. One of my favorite things to do is exploring new cities, especially the non-tourist areas. The first time I was in London, I enjoyed walking around the suburban neighborhoods alot more than "seeing the sights". Gave me an idea how the people there lived. Much more interesting.

Same here.

Either or. I just road 150 miles to Morgantown, WV on Friday and another 150 back on Sunday. The mountains and scenery are just awe inspiring. I'm visitng friends in Havre de Grace, MD this weekend which is about 20 minutes or so north of the nothern part of the beltway. The quickest way to get there is to go 95 through the inner harbor and that's my favorite part of the trip. It's a mix of sky scrapes, industrial, abandonments, and docks with large ships. It's just so ****ing cool.

just rode 125 miles yesterday on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina and must admit it was absolutly beautiful. But we also spent Labor Day weekend in Charleston, South Carolina and touring the historical sites was pretty special also. But like most here if i had to pick one give me the natural.

Natural is definitely preferred. I will admit that there are times where I have chosen a path through downtown on a Saturday or Sunday morning and enjoyed it thoroughly. The bike sounds awesome purring through the concrete canyons, no pedestrians, no traffic.
