Default I'm Back

Well, back in 2008 I lost my beloved 2007 Wide Glide in a divorce. Not to say that she took it, but going from 2 decent incomes to one income forced me to cut back and sell her.

Well, the weather here in TX is cooling down and I am getting the itch again. Heading to the dealership after work today, to find something used. Thinking either Dyna or Touring, 2008 or newer, less then 10K miles.

Last logged in on 11/08/08 and decided to stop back. I may be hitting you guys up for some advice again real soon.

Man, I made a whole lot of sacrifices for my 3 kids (who live with me, BTW). The bike was the least of them. Gave up a whole lifestyle. The good thing is that I am back in a position where I can afford to get back up on 2 wheels and look at this like nothing more than a bump in the road. 3 awesome kids, a hot girlfriend, the bike is all I need to be whole again.

Thanks, Captain. I see you make holsters? Getting back on the bike means that I am going to need a new shoulder rig. Any suggestions?

Good on you for keeping the kids with you. I was a single parent after my first wife and I divorced when my daughter was 4 years old. I went more than 20 years without a bike, but never regretted it because I had my daughter, and she always has been (and still is) my best friend. She is 36 now. Sometimes we need to sacrifice things we want (like a bike in the garage) for more important stuff (like raising kids). My current wife and I have three bikes in the garage and are thinking about getting a bigger garage so we can add to the fleet. Bikes are great, but nothing is more important (as you well know) than providing for your kids!
