I have a letter from HD to my Grampa back in 1958. It was for him riding 100,000 miles. They also included a hat pin. WOnder if they still do something like that nowadays. 100 k miles is still a lot of seat time but imagine doing that on the roads of that era (40s n 50s)
A plaque? That's it? Hell they ought to be hooking him up with a new scoot. That there would be some great advertising for the MoCo IMHO...

That is true, they did give him a new bike and put his old bike in the museum.
Sadly, Dave was hit by a car in the last year and lost a leg. The new bike that was in the accident already had over 250,000 miles on it.
