It seems my '06 Electra Glide Standard FLHTi is running rich. With it being fuel injected is there anything I can do to prevent taking it to the Harley shop and spending a ton of money? I do not have a tuner if that helps.
No not fouling plugs. The exhaust smells rich like fuel and it blows a little black smoke when I rev it up. Also, I don't think I am getting good MPG (about 135-140 miles to a tank. 5G). It seems to run fine. I've only had it about 1 1/2 months and am getting ready to ride it 400 miles to Myrtle Beach bike week.

Thanks
Man, that's definitely crappy gas mileage...i have 2005, 95" big bore, injected and i can easily eek out 220 miles from a 5 gallon tank...

Easiest way is to buy a Vance and Hines Fuel Pack. I had one on my old EGS and ran it for over 10K miles with ZERO problems. Worth the money. Bryan
Update. I took it to the Harley dealer to see about hooking it up to check it but, they guy says, it sounds great. Everything seems fine. Not having a lot of cash, I took his advice. I forgot to mention the bad gas mileage to him.
Anyway, today I drove it from Atlanta, GA to Myrtle Beach, SC and had to fill up at 138 miles! I out 4.94 gallons of gas in it then and it did the same, the rest of the trip. I even changed the plugs at one stop but, no change. I will definitely have it looked at when I get back home but, any idea why a bike that just serviced to hilt 2500 miles ago is getting such lousy MPG?
Man, at just 40 mpg you should be getting 200 to a tank. Definitely something is out of whack. I ditto the suggestion to check your air filter. You don't say how many miles are on it, but maybe the previous owner never changed out the air filter.
