I think the lindby bar is very ugly and gaudy. Go with the HD guard, it matches the style of the FB better in my opinion. I'm getting mine later this week.
I have the Lindby on two different HDs. I thought the old school HD version looked ----old, boring, and cluttered once you stuck highway pegs on them. The bars will help protect your bike if you plan on dropping it like most of the members here claim to do. I just like the foot rest aspect of them and have not used them to help hold my bikes up while I lay them on their sides to nap yet.

Depends on why you want them. If it's for function like protection in a tip over, holding highway pegs, or for installing soft lowers in the winter to keep the cold and wet off your legs, they are great. If you're worried about them looking cool, that's in the eye of the beholder. For me, function trumps fashion every time.
By the way, our Nightster had them when I bought the bike (previous owner) and they look good, IMO. Tiffany is learning how to ride on the N, therefore instead of "Crash Bars" we refer to them as "Frame Extensions". Engine Guard works too.
