Default Trailer advice

I'm needing to get trailer to carry my bike. To those who have them, enclosed or open? Obviously I can save a good bit by using the open utility but I want the opinion of those experienced with this.

Also, which wheel chock. The Condor looks to be good as does the Titan.

Thanks

Closed. I installed an a/c in mine with carpet that I can roll down and removable wheel chocks. A couple of RV windows with an aluminum tool box on the trailer tongue. You could actually ride by the house and see mine.

How you get your broke down bike home or to the shop? Carry it on your back? Call a rollback? Load it into the bed of a truck? As much as I wish it wasn't so there have been more then a few times one of my Harley's wasn't road worthy. I used my own trailer.

never have had to do it. fixed it on side of road or pushed into a parking lot and fixed it. have had to call for parts, or walk to a parts store to buy a battery when charging system died. i will admit, my bikes have been on a trailer once. when moving from the great northwest back to texas. just wasnt feasable to make the trip with a truck and trailer full of tools, then two trips back to get bikes, with winter coming in. but just to trailer it to a place to ride, not happening. if i cant ride it there, i dont need to be there.

I agree. A good friend is buying a bike this week and he lives about 4.5 hours away in a real good riding area.

I can't see my wife and daughter riding in the truck with me following behind every time we go visit.

I went with both. The 8.5 X 20 enclosed is for three bikes, bunk, locker and cabinets with heat and a/c for camping at a rally. I made it a quick remove for the fixtures so that I can use it as a car hauler to take the sports cars to a track.

For trips to save gas mileage, I put together a HF 1820 lb capacity flat bed trailer.

I have a 1999 8x12 Haulmark lowhauler that I bought new. Over the years my experience would tell me that whatever you buy it should have tandom axles . Unless you are only using for short trips. Getting a flat at high speeds with a single axle rig can get real exciting in a hurry. Enclosed is going to impact your fuel milage more than an open trailer. But she(your bike) will be clean when ya get there with an enclosed plus it gives the wife a place to cram all that "gotta have" stuff. Also I have two harbor freight chocks and love them. They will also save you some cash
