While I can appreciate a parents love and all that I'll suggest you give him moral support while he buys his own bike . 2 reasons for saying that , one being you'll be a better parent and he'll end up being a better person for it not having something handed to him that he had to work for and take care of himself . And # 2 your going to skip all the guilt that comes with when he goes whack the first time and trust me on this it's going to happen if he's that young . Just something to think about .
I am interested in buying my son a Harley, currently we bought him a VTX, but looking for a good first harley for him. Here's some needs I think he/we need. Going to sell the vtx, looking for a bike $6K-7K, first real road bike for him. He s 6'1" 225lbs , dr's say he'll be about 6'4". He has been riding since he was seven and is a pretty good rider as being respectful to the two wheel concept. Need the bike to be comfortable for a long distance bike trip..father/son summer trip as well around town bike. So..anyone have an idea?
What the He!! are U saying,,,,,, Father/son trip needs TWO bikes not one.........
Even to buy any Dependable Harley for 6K is unreasonably.
U'r whole post doesn't make sense....and even if someone does answer it, U have not given enough Info to give any real advice except what each one of our experiences is.

I'm seeing 02 to 04 models out here around that price so yah you get one , whether you should or not is the real question . I understand your view point but I've watched what you want to do play out a time or 2 and it's always Dad's dream not the kids and it never played out how the the old man wished .
