I recently purchased a new bike and the guy told me he had a 103 kit put in 1200 miles ago. The rocker gaskets are leaking and I'm not used to a big twin bike. How can I visually or physically check to know what has been done to it? I'm not calling this guy out because he is a great guy but I just have concerns. He is suppose to get me the paperwork soon but I have not seen it. Until then what should I be looking for to confirm the 103 stroker kit?
Haven't tried I guess!!! Then again my dad's stock 88 will smoke a tire!! Good point the, my friend asked if it wanted to come up in second!! If I had experience
Prior I would know, but the bike for sure will move
Down the road, just more torque than my 1200
Kit Sportster.
Same crank, just bigger bore and pistons. There's no way to tell visually. You have to pull the heads and measure the bore to know for sure.
Thanks. A 95 is an 88 crank with the same piston as a 103. I had some guy in another Harley forum argue with me that his 88 was stroked to 95. I said ummm no you got a bigger piston. Didn't go well I got banned. Sorry for the thread jack

Got banned for telling the truth? Must have been Hdtalking. lol
Yeah 88 to 95 same crank, 88 to 103 new stroked crank. Guess I will have to ride my dads stock 88 fatboy to be able to see a difference. I have the rocker boxes off of te bike right now replacing them, but can't tell anything from that view. With the piston at TDC I could see the piston wasn't covered in black. I would think if it was the original 47000 miles it would be completely black colored. Any opinions?

Just what year/model did you buy? Hopefully "the paperwork" will identify and verify what was done; otherwise...
