I've had this H-D locking gas cap for some time. Now it chooses not to lock. I can twist it off with out even using the Key. So this morning I fill up going to work before hitting rain. After getting back out onto the road I notice that the cap is not making a positive seal onto the top of the tank.
Gas was filming around the cap opening.
Has anyone been or had problems with H-D locking cap??
Well I haven't, but I'd get it into your dealership soon. We had a bike in the shop a few weeks back, that had a custom paint job, it had a leak around the cap and the gas ate through the paint.
I have one and so far it works fine. I asked about them at another place and one guy had the opposite problem, his wouldn't unlock. they had to remove the barrel out of the thing to get it off. I'll probably swap mine out before long just so I don't have to worry about it.
