rode from Minneapolis to N IL one day left was about 37 never got out of the 40 and drizzle most of the way. I had the midweight jacket and over pants. Stayed dry and warm. with the addition of the heated jacket liner. As long as it stays above freezing the FXRG gloves are fine. Any colder I switch to the heated gloves.
I bought the nylon jacket and the nylon pant . I also bought the boots and gloves. They are all the new ones for 2006. Trying to figure out if there is any more feedback on the usability of each fxrg peice. trying to see if they are really waterproof and can be used in place of rain gear in the winter. Any info would be very much helpful. Thanks
For the nylon gear you can always spray them with NIKWAX http://www.nikwax-usa.com/en-us/ I used there stuff on some First gear clothing and never had any issues in really bad rain.
I have the FXRG heavyweight leather jacket that comes with a zip out quilted and zipped liner, armor, etc. Seems to water proof as long as everything is zipped up. Very comfortable in 45 degree weather without the liner; and good down to 40 degrees with the liner. I haven't ridden with it in colder weather. Also, the zip out liner makes a decent jacket by itself and is, apparently, intended to be worn seperately since it has the FXRG logo embroidered on the left chest. I need to wear gauntlet style gloves to keep the air from entering at the wrists.
