And, my Optimate brand says go to the terminals with the pigtail for permanent install.

Connected mine directly to the post also. I have had them attached there for about five years now, no problems.

If you go to a bolt on the frame instead of the battery you may find that the circuit resistance throught the frame is increased. While this may be minor it means 1. that with resistance comes heat 2. your battery will not charge as fast.

Recommend going straight to the battery terminals.

Dealer did mine too before I bought the bike (much less the BT!), connected to the battery terminals. No problems, 2 years with this bike.

Battery chargers are connected to the battery posts.Dont see why the ground would be connected to anything else.

It doesn't have to be directly on the battery post. You can use the same ground connection on the frame that the other accessories use to connect to. It all connects back to the neg. battery terminal anyhow and makes no difference whatsoever as long as it is a clean , tight connection.
