I bought my superglide on june 6, in greensburgh Pa. I financed through Harley at 4.9%. I didn't think that was too bad considering I got 6% on my F-150 in "09".

I just traded a '95 FLHR on an '03 FHHRCI. We were about $4K apart. Dealer punched me into the computer and got be 4.49% from Eaglemark (HD Credit).

They gave it to me.

HD is pretty competitive right now....i have been told by my local dealer that they have seen many 3.9 and 4.9% if you have the score...if you don't then the credit unions are a bit more forgiving...And don't worry about the rich folks in here that pay cash for toys LOL they will give you a hard time about financing....Mine is financed with Eagle Mark 3.9% i think.

I disagree. I have excellent credit, but back in 2008 I made it to the finance part of the deal and was told the best they can do is 12.5%. I told him to have a nice day, and I'd be riding home on my old bike. The guy said, "Well what rate do you want, I'll just stuff it down HD's throat because I have to sell you this bike." Then I realized I had to negotiate my interest rate rather than them just giving me the best rate. I left at $7.5% that day. Needless to say, I paid for my next bike with cash. All this trading and financing isn't for me anymore. I feel like I have so much more dignity when making transactions. It goes from them doing me a favor to me completely controlling almost all aspects of the deal.

My personal rule, back when I would borrow to ride, was never do mods until the bike is paid off. Now that I don't have payments I can do things like drop a few $K here and there when I'm bored with the bike. While most people are trading up and financing the next best thing, I'm modding mine out and about to sport my new paint job. Even my co-worker with a new road king said he won't park next to me anymore, because my bike is getting all the love. Hell, if I had to do it all over agian, I'd by a slightly used bike and mod it to the gills.

Next, I'll be rocking my newly painted tins in a couple weeks:

Cash is king. I have great credit but try to keep my dedt load to a minimum. I did finance my truck but at 1.9% it's almost not borrowing money. I try to pay cash for everything else unless it's 0%. It's the Dave Ramsey method, I hear. lol
