Clip mine to my belt. I guess in a perfect world it would be mounted to the console or whatever but for my purposes it works fine. Actually in a perfect world it would be wireless .
In a perfect world you wouldn't need no stinkin' heated gear...
The leads are long enough to just stick in your pocket. I also bought the gerging Union Ridge pants, with velcro on the pocket. I put a piece of velcro on the back of the controller, and stick it on the velcro on the pant pocket, on my left thigh. If I don't wear the pants, I just set it and stick it in my jacket pocket.
My chaps have a small small external pocket on the left waist. The controller fits in there just right. Before these chaps I just used a velcro strap around my thigh and a piece of velcro on the back of the controller.
I have been using this mount for a couple of years, and it works pretty well..The ***** are out in front so that you can access it. We also just sent out a panel to another forum member that straps around your thigh..Just waiting for him to let us know how it is going to work..
I thought that I was on to something when I designed a heat controller mount that straps to my thigh, but, while the concept I think was a good one, my design/execution of the concept left a lot to desire. My main issue with my design is that it slips and turns on my leg to easily. I wanted to be able to dress up with controller and be all plugged up INSIDE THE HOUSE in comfort and just go out to the bike and plug the power cord in. Perhaps a holster type hanging mount that snaps around a belt with a hanging lace that straps around the thigh once seated would work better? Still trying to think it thru first.
In the meen time I have mounted the original controller mount that I recieved. I don't have a screw in my panel to secure it with but instead have slid it down between my tank and seat and secured the top with a piece of velcro. It is secure and EZ enough to use and it puts the controller right at my fingertips. I also installed a panel mounted port kit onto my crotch cooler. (permanent, secure, EZ to plug into)
