But I was really wondering if anyone has had these jackets. I currently have a Schott made Legendary jacket in horsehide. I would love to have some more pictures to look at and ideas on what is the better jacket (riding and styling). I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT FOX CREEK EITHER (MADE WERE?). But really not to yell just have decided on these two and would really like to know more.
Oh and if you have any measurements like back length in around a size 42-44 that would be great.
and PS I DO HAVE A FOX CREEK VEST and I love it!
I have a Vanson and a Shott. I wear the Schott a lot more and like it much better. Nothing wrong with the Vanson, but the new ones are made in Mexico too.
My jackets are not the same models at all. Both brands are on the shorter side lengthswise. I am sure my Schott is so much more comfortable as I have been wearing it for 12 years and I have only had the Vanson for a few months. I bought the Shcott enw and the Vanson used so the Vanson should be broken in but it just is not comfortable for em especially around the neck.
I have both brands but not those models. Both companies make good products but the new Vanson jackets are no longer made in Massachusetts and I don't know about their current quality. On the older jackets I think Vanson is better. I doubt if you will be disappointed with either jacket. You should be able to contact both and get the measurements.
Thanks guys, I am actually leaning towards the Vanson. Problem is I have always wanted a perfecto. Sooooo hummm I better think on it!
Would anyone have pictures of the Vanson Thunderbird? Or any thing else for that matter! My wife says I'm crazy but, if your gonna be riding in it you better like it Right?
The shott I had was made 30 years ago so I can only hope that they're made as well now, but I can tell you it was as close to bulletproof as one gets. Like a quarter inch thick and felt great.
Vanson all the way! I have a Vanson Highwayman jacket and it is by far the nicest jacket that I have ever owned or seen. I have tried on a Schott 118 and it was not nearly as nice as my Vanson. I ordered a Langlitz and sent it back as I was not impressed at all with it, especially for the amount of money that they charge. I have had my Vanson for almost 1 year and will never get rid of it. Made is USA. Looking to buy a Vanson Model B in the near future so that I have another style.
