Even if the weather is too bad to ride and you're worried about missing your weekly ride, just go fire her up and let her run for a few minutes to get the juices flowing.

I ride pretty much year round...Cold this morning 27 degrees. I use the same oil...Winter and summer. The manual will tell you to go to a lower viscosity...You can make the call on that one, but I have never had a problem. Keep up the battery when not in use. Real important...Like other posters have said, wash your scoot after any contact with road salt...It will eat your sh*t up!

I usually switch to a "winter grade" oil. 10W40 Rotella is my choice (pls no oil threads). Your manual will mention using a lighter grade come winter. If you have your bike somewhere heated, it most likely doesnt matter. The lighter oil is supposed to make it start better and get oil running faster in the cold engine.

If the weather is too bad to ride, you're probably better off just leaving the bike off until the conditions improve. If you can't ride it around for at least 20 or 30 mins, I don't think it's a good idea to just fire it up.
