Default Sta-Bil Needed?

I live in the South so I don't put my bike up for the winter. However, I won't be riding near as much as I do in warm weather. So, should I use Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer or not?

Nah. It is only useful if you store your bike for over 6 months.

It all depends on how that gas will be sitting in your tank. The fuel we have in Ne. will stay good for at least 45 days. I keep my bike at the ready always to, but I do add Sta-bil becouse my next good riding day could be next week or April. It's cheap insurance incase we have a bad winter.

I gave up on that Snake oil years ago. I haven't used it for at least 20 years, the vehicles sit for 4-5 months and I've never had an issue. We've had ethanol gas up here for years as well.

I wouldn't in your situation. I have property in the Adirondacks of NY and some of my equipment doesn't get used for up to 6 months enduring temperatures of -40+ in the winter. That equipment gets Sta-Bil. Fortunately my Bike doesn't get the same storage.

I use it to keep water out. Warm days with cold evenings causes moisture.

Gas does go bad (shellacked), and we don't know how long it's sat in the station's tanks.

I use sta bil in everything I got in the fall. I went through that hell this summer with a 225 mercury boat motor, cost me $750.00 to clean that thing and replace lines from the damage done by ethanol gas. Be sure and get the kind made for ethonal gas ( blue color) Like Cbill said, cheap ins.

I never liked it, If you use to much it can gum up the system.
