I put stabil in all my gas engines. My bike sits for almost 4 months out of the year. That sucks. I keep 2 gas cans full of stabil gas. I put it in the snow blower all winter and the mower at the end of the season. After my last ride, I fill the tank add stabil , run the bike, then top off tank with gas from the cans. I can done this for years. Works every time.
+1 on that. I do the same. Gas degrades in time. I take no chances. All power sport dealers I know recommend it.
I had an old wing that sat for a few years with gas in it. When I got back around to it the old gas turned to varnish and messed up the carbs and ate through the insides of the gas tank. Cheap insurance..........use it.
Its cheap insurance and it works. I use it in my boat and second bike that I don't ride as often. A friend let his bike sit for a year, and guess what... Gummed up, trailered to dealer and $500.00 service bill.
Ounce of prevdntion.....you know the rest. The s---t they pass for fuel appears to become unstable....theres no way to know how old the fuel sitting underground is either so unless you want that shtuff varnishing in your scoot my opinion is to treat it and run that engine for 15 every wekend ( thats what i do if i cant ride).
Twenty years ago , gas would last for a few months. Now the gas companies have cut way back on the additives required to keep gas fresh over time .
For the few bucks spent on Stabil ... do it Man.
Same for all your small engines that sit for more than a month at a time.
Quick buy stock in Stab IL. That would do more than putting it in your bike. With all the believers you will make enough on dividends to buy a new bike
