Can't say that I give a **** about any of the issues mentioned here. Do what you want. If I have to worry about something, I'll worry about something much more important, like my post count on HDForums.
BTW, no one congratulated me on my promotion to road master. I'm just sayin...
If you ask me (I know, nobody did) it depends on what kind of riding you do, and why you do it. As a new rider, I enjoy the openness and adventure of being on the bike, instead of the comfort of my car. So, I don't miss the heater, air-conditioner, radio, soft seats, and excessive speeds I get from my cage. I always take longer to get somewhere on my bike, because I'm having fun and I don't mind if it takes a little more time.[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

Am I the only one who gets on the bike to get AWAY from crap like that?
No you're not the only one Camaro...
The thing is we all want more, but for some of us less is more ------> In the wind with at peace alone with our thoughts away from the usual stuff, the less we have betwen us and the wind & road...the better.
On the other hand there's others who find it in actually having more stuff hooked onto their bikes for convenience and comfort because it enhances the experience and makes it more enjoyable, that's a great thing too.
As long as it puts a smile on your face,it's all good.
"To each his own"
That's the way I feel. I'm the only one that rides my bike & I really don't care if you or anyone else likes it.
That being said......I currently have five bikes registered for the road. One is a touring bike, Yamaha Venture Royale. It has all of the above mentioned comforts except air conditioning & I never even road it this year. I much prefer the style of my Street Bob. I did buy a detachable windshield for it, but after using it on one weekend trip, it was taken off & put back in the box it came in. It hasn't been back on the bike since. I just prefer the basic bike.
Again........"To each his own"
Oh,.........I'm selling the Venture in the spring to have money to put toward another H/D.
I spent a few years in an Air Force field unit - you know, M-16's, foxholes, hummers, M925's, etc. A field unit. My motto then was, "If you ain't comfortable, you're stupid". Still holds true today. If I take a 600 mile ride, I want to be comfortable. And that means differant things for differant folks. I don't like music, some folks do. I like foreward controls, some people don't. Simple as that.
What I don't get, is why some "bikers" still don't get the concept of individual freedom.
