Default Paint Set Shipping???

Has anyone ever shipped a complete set of pain tins from a touring bike particularly a Road Glide? If so roughly what did it cost? I think I have a deal done with a guy in OK with a custom set of painted tins. I am in IN. We are going to trade tins for tins however I am going to pay shipping both ways. I am guessing it will cost around $300-400 total, so $150-200 each way. I am just seeing if anyone on here has an idea. Thanks Bryan

The price would depend on the distance from point A to point B. Also the size of the box. I would call FedEx and talk about the specific details. On a side note, who is painting your bike?

I was trading a guy in Oklahoma City for a custom set he already had done for my new Vivid black set. I am in Indiana. The deal fell through because it was gonna cost between $350-400 each way to ship. I was willing to pay the shipping one way but the owner wanted me to pay both ways. Had it only been $350-400 total I was all for it, however I just cannot afford $700-800 to have UPS ship it. FedEx may have been a little cheaper but not half price. Just my luck! Thanks for the replies though. Bryan

Not a bagger, but my husband and I just sent out both of our tins for his Softail and my Dyna. It cost $90-$100 each one way. It took about a week to get from Florida to Utah. Hope that helps. I also took it to a packing place where they packed it for us and we payed for insurance.

The shipping costs are going to be very high. The fairing ships as oversize, so the cost is calculated by volume rather than weight. Basically, it will be treated like is is a 70lb package. I have been trying to sell a painted inner fairing from a RoadGlide for some time and the shipping costs always calculates at at least $50 for just the inner fairing. Assuming you can get the inner and outer in the same box, then add the cost of the other 6 pieces and you are going to be up in the hundreds.

I just did a paint job from Belgium (Europe) to Florida and back for $212 one way, $227 back from FL to Belgium w/ $6000.00 insurance. Not too bad IMO, but then again I don't do debt and budgeted for this expense months in advance. Street Glide w/ inner fairing shipped USPS.
