Holy ****, that's them!!

When watching the videos at first, I thought that the two of them were in way over their heads. After a while, I came to the conclusion that they were both highly skilled riders, and they knew what they were doing.

I especially liked watching them ride their buried bikes out of three feet of powder after a cursory brushing off of the snow, so that they could put their keys in the ignition. Great stuff!

I'm giving myself three weeks. I plan to spend more time in Alaska than I did last summer. Depending on where you're riding from, three weeks is almost necessary.

I do not recommend riding two up on the ALCAN. I don't even recommend riding it solo unless you have some serious skills. I know some lady riders who are as good as any men. Consider the daily miles and hours in the saddle and whether or not she can hang with you.

I'm planning for 3 weeks. Can be done in less, but I want to spend more time in Alaska this time.

It's not a concrete slab, that's for sure. It's doable; hell I did it. It just requires about 1000x the attention you would give any other road.

Beats the hell out of the weekly ride to the local biker bar and the occasional few hundred mile excursion!

Shrug, I've got my big boy pants and would love to go with you and anyone else that is willing to go and not "what if" it to death. Let me know where to go for details as they become available.

Well said!

I'm looking at a June 16 departure from Dallas with plans to cross into Canada at the Chief Mountain border station on the 18th. From AZ, you might want a different route to the ALCAN. Too much to go into here.

PM sent.

I rode out to meet you when you returned from Alaskapade because I thought it was so incredible that you set this goal for yourself; I wanted to welcome you home.

It's a funny feeling whenever I've ridden home after being away on a long motorcycle trip . . . one enters the DFW traffic routine and no one knows why you're there and what you've done. I've always been glad to get home, but sad that the experience was over.

I was sure that there would be a procession of motorcyclists accompanying you and welcoming you home on that last leg of your long solo journey. As soon as I checked your SPOT and saw that it was possible, I wanted to be a part of it.

Riding my motorcycle with you to Alaska, would be very exciting, but I'll be honest. It may be beyond my adventure level. But I'm thinking about it.

Come out to my motorcycle skills practice sessions some day. I announce them on my Facebook page.

Ken
