Good, so long as ya stay on top of keepin them in good repair--they have a tendency to get dirty & hot & getting as loose as a crack ***** lookin fur the next fix
Oh, and now that I think about it, how many of you geezers out there remember the Chopper Stopper front brake. For you kids it was a cable/mini drum front brake about the size of a Schwinn bike brake. It was made to hold you from rolling back when stopped on a hill. Made to make the extended front ends look light and cool. Between those and the 21 inch over slugs it's amazing anyone made it out of the '60's.
Properly working drum brakes are not a death trap as some suggest. Granted they do not have the stopping power of most disk brakes. If the drums, shoes and cables are working properly they will stop you just fine. Drums tend to fade quicker and retain heat longer, also if they get dirty the adjustment may not work properly and you will continue to lose stopping power as the drums wear. If you are not familiar with the operation of drum brakes there is alot of information on the internet on repair and maintenance. Good luck

I went hi tech and got the little Hurst Airhart 8" disk that was about 1/8" thick and the cable operated master cylinder off a racing go cart and rigged it up , ate a couple of those rotors but it looked cool .
