I just don't get this attitude. A FatBoy is a fine bike for doing miles. You can put on saddlebags and a nice sized "trunk" bag. Softails ride fine and save a few hundred pounds over a tourer, and lets not get on to that the motor is smoother at some speeds. I fit much better on a softy than a tourer.

Perhaps a FatBoy is not your "preference" but a FatBoy, in fact ANY motorcycle, is far from USELESS as long as it runs well. A FatBoy is a $18,000 Harley Davidson motorcycle with virtually the same technology as yours. If you were looking for a reaction, you got one. You Tourer guys need to get off your high, high, high, big horse...

Just my $.02... There are recalls concerning safety problems I'd check them out... Not trying to rain on your parade... Better safe than sorry...

The recall on the 2006's (in October) was for the long pivot bolt. Evidently it is of poor mfg., and will bend or brake, setting the rear fender down on the tire.

Check w/where you bought it and make sure the new bolt was installed (get proof). Otherwise take it in to be fixed.
