Default RE: Windex on chrome?

Windex is fine on chrome.

Even better, for the really funky bits, like chrome wheels is.....SOS pads. Use VERY light pressure, just contact, really...and you won't scratch anything. Also, the soap they come impregnated with leaves a nice protective film if you don't get carried away with rinsing and wiping down (don't use any pressure in the wipe-down either...just gentle contact).

It should go without saying that they should never contact paint or bare aluminum, as both are way softer than the metal in the pad...chrome is way harder so it won't scratch unless you were to really work at it.

Been doing this way well over thirty years to good effect.

Interesting that no one ever connected those particular dots before.
What's even dumber is that I HAVE used it on the bathroom and kitchen fixtures for years.
Duh, chrome is chrome, its not like its a different mineral or something.

Hmmm, anyone tried using it, or Pledge on polished aluminum, like wheels and fork tubes before?

I wash my bike with "Simple Green" mixed 1/3 Simple Green with 2/3 water. You can use this solution on all surfaces with no worries. Bike is squeaky clean. Simply spray the solution on the bike and rinse with a strong stream of water. I used to use S100, but became unwilling to flip the bill because of the S100 price. I think S100 works better than the Simple Green solution only because it is thicker and sticks to the bike better, but the Simple Green solution gets the bike just as clean. If you purchase Simple Green in the gallon jug at COSTCO (Sam's Club), it makes for a very affordable cleaning solution. As far as polishing chrome, I use Harley Glaze on everything. It is a very fine polish and a small amount goes a long way. If I am out of Harley Glaze, I use Miguires polish.
