What do you guys mean...He's probably an illegal anyways? What is this probably all about? You don't know. For all you know...It could be from a poor smoe who inadvertently lost all the money he had. $200 is a lot of money to some people, and may make a difference on many levels.
This wallet had a name and an address ... Mexico or Timbucktoo ... doesn't matter! The right thing to do would be at least make an attempt to return it to it's rightful owner. Failing that, and after a reasonable amount of time ... then blow it or give it to charity ... what ever floats your boat.
Finders keepers .... Pfffftttt! If it were mine, I would certainly appreciate getting it back. Not just the money, but trying to replace credit cards and drivers licences or whatever a person might have in their wallet is SUCH a pain!!!
Just my 2 cents!
you know at the time i thought with what i had i would never find the person. so i gave most of it to the kids in denton tx. comeberland orfanage. and bought toys for a toy run.do i feel guilty not a bit!!!!did i have fun doing it yes!!!did i mean for this to turn to politcall wet back thred no!!!i did what i thought was wright!!!!
There's enough scenarios that would constitute me trying my hardest to return the wallet and its contents. We have Mimo for instance, our HDF friend from Mexico, who could have been visiting on his hog and now has no way to get it back over the border to return home. I know for me, my conscience wouldn't be at rest and it breaks my heart hearing Americans/HDF members who wouldn't be first to help their neighbors.
Call local police. They take it as found property and give you a receipt. They make an effort through the local consulate to find the owner. The illegal alien problem pi$$es me off too, but if they are illegal, the consulate won't be able to find them. Mexicans do come here on vacation (Legally, I swear). It's just the right thing to do.
