Is this like the 'Purple heart" for motorcycle crashers? there will be people crashing on purpose so they can sew on a patch...

Forum staff has the last word on patch placement, size, color etc..Anyone found to be in Violation of this policy will be given a harsh reprimand. Anyone who continues to wear the patch without approval will receive a permanent ban.’
