While I liked the B motor and the Fatboy...

I too found it 'congested and tight'.

I like the RKC and the minor vibe at idle just fine!

Ouch! some of you are getting a little serious, lighten up you will live a lot longer
My first half dozen or so Harleys were all rigids, rode a Pan Chopper with 1"thick seat for quite a few years. The wife got sick of the Maine roads we finally bought our first new bike in 71 Wow! What a treat with suspension! My last three bikes are all rubber mounted and man I do enjoy them.Back in the day we loved our Harleys for different reasons than a lot of bikers today.Certainly no electric start all kickers, definetly no entertainment on board,no cell phones, most all bikers you met on the road were all the same kind of people. No need for all this brow beating.I know I'm cool, I feel it everytime a throw a leg over one of my Two Wheelers, Yup and I can get pretty ignorant try keeping up with me you will see first hand.

I have had pretty much every style bike Harley has made. Sportster, Shovelheads, Softail, Evo's, Pan, etc . My most recent last bike was my favorite of all I have had till my current bike. It was a 113" Evo motored rigid 5into4 kicker only morris snap mag no battery etc. I couldn't care less what you or anyone thinks about why I owned that bike. If you want to use your type of logic then riding an poorly suspended, underpowered, overpriced 100 year old design is ignorant as well.

I like the way the engine rocks back and forth in the frame when I am stopped at a light in my Superglide. It is cool, like the way the engine in my little cobra rocks back and forth in the engine bay and shakes the entire car. It is all a retro macho thing.

I like certain models of both softails and Dynas, but I can't afford either right now.

Ride what you like. I been thinking all winter that I'd like a bigger bike and I really would. But I jumped on that sporty yesterday and the only thing I could think of is how good it felt to even be on a bike, and how much I love the one I have.

I think that each one has certain characteristics that outweigh the other, but the one theory that I believe is BS is that the "A" motor" having more power than the "B" motor. Lets see some dyno sheets of the A and B motors side by side. They are most likely going to be within 5 hp of each other. Those are differences that you will probably see between 2 "A" motors or 2 "B" motors due to one of them being a "tighter" engine. Besides, those counterbalancers don't take up THAT much power.

Any one have a dyno sheet of a stock A and a B motor??

On a Harley 5hp is a lot.

Stage 1 is only 7hp gain.

A lot of people spend $2000+ to gain 10hp. Stage 2 big bore.

Good point......that the bad thing about starting to ride in the spring is that the roads have a sh** ton of new pot holes that weren't there last year!
